Hi Japan Club!
Hope you all have had a wonderful Spring Semester so far!
If you’ve been struggling through assignments and the cold weather, we’ve got just the thing for you – Japan Club’s Spring Curry Night will be coming up soon! Come join us for some delicious Japanese curry at Shea House on Friday, February 20, from 4:45-6:15pm! First plate for members is FREE and $5 for non-members, and the second plate will be $2 for everyone; vegetarian options will be available too so everyone please come out and bring your friends along!
Thank you to everyone who came out to Family Weekend! Hope you all got to spend quality bonding time with your family heads & members and met some new faces! And a huge congratulations to our 1st Annual JC Gelato Eating Competition winners, Corey Minnick (16 cups) and Karen Yi (15 cups)!
Another big thank you to everyone who came out to the 2nd Shota’Z Corner last Wednesday! In case you don’t know what this is, this event (led by JC Academic Chairs Shota Ono and Zainab Awan) provides an opportunity for STUDENTS STUDYING JAPANESE to practice speaking the Japanese you’ve learned in the classroom with native speakers, learn more about modern Japanese culture, and enjoy some Japanese cuisine delivered from local restaurants (the food is paid by the Department of East Asian Languages, Literatures and Cultures)!
We’re planning to continue having this event periodically in the future; contact Shota Ono (firstname.lastname@example.org) for any questions!
